Alicia Witt in TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN.

Osgood Perkins’ (The Blackcoat’s Daughter) Longlegs has added two more stars to its already hugely exciting cast of Nic Cage and Maika Monroe. Deadline have revealed today that Alicia Witt (I Care a Lot, Urban Legend) and Blair Underwood (Caste, Bad Hair) have also signed on for the psychological thriller.

Longlegs – currently in production in Vancouver – follows:

FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.

Needless to say, we’ve been almost impossibly hyped for Longlegs since we first heard about it, and became even more so when Cage described his character as a ‘possessed Geppetto.’

Alicia Witt is no stranger to the horror scene, with one of her first ever roles coming from the king of psychological terror himself, David Lynch, in both Dune and Twin Peaks. In 1998 she starred in Jamie Blanks’ slasher Urban Legend and has also starred in Supernatural and Fox’s The Exorcist show.

Golden Globe-nominee Blair Underwood (seen above in Dear White People) had his most recent horror outing in Justin Simien’s Bad Hair, and has also recently directed, produced and starred in his own indie psychological thriller Viral (currently in post-production.)

Cage and his production company Saturn Films (The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent, Pig) are producing Longlegs, along with C2 Motion Picture Group, Dan Kagan (Significant Other), Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Insidious, Sinister), Caplan (Babylon) and Chris Ferguson (Childโ€™s Play). Exec producers on the project include Cloth (Joker, House of Gucci), Fred Berger (La La Land) and John Friedberg (Greenland). Black Bear International will release Longlegs in the UK, while genre titans NEON are apparently closing in on North American distribution rights, but no confirmation just yet.

Now you just know that Longlegs is one of our most anticipated upcoming new releases, so we’ll have all the updates on release dates or further castings as we get them.
