Fede Alvarez’s hugely hyped Alien: Romulus creeps ever closer to its August 16 release date, and today’s brand new trailer proves the Evil Dead director is absolutely not holding back AT ALL.
Starring Cailee Spaeny (Civil War), David Jonsson (Murder is Easy), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Isabela Merced (The Last of Us), Spike Fearn (Aftersun) and Aileen Wu, the R-rated sci-fi horror was produced by Alien legend Ridley Scott, who promisingly declared it as “f***king great.”
We’re sure you don’t need a reminder at this point but just in case:
While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.
Rather than serving as another prequel to the original sci-fi/horror classic, Romulus is set between the events of Alien and Aliens, and has also been described tonally as an amalgamation of those two films.
Today’s new trailer certainly promises a tantilizing combination of Alien‘s intense horror and Aliens‘ explosive action.
Need we remind you too that Alvarez went practical wherever possible, meaning the disgustingly slimy Facehugger you see in this trailer is about as real as it gets.
Tickets for Alien: Romulus are now on sale – and don’t forget to grab the upcoming issue of FANGORIA for more exclusive Romulus content.
