Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus is so close you can almost hear it creeping around in the air vents, with a new TV spot today giving an intense sneak peek at the sci-fi horror before its August 16 release date.
Starring Cailee Spaeny (Civil War), David Jonsson (Murder is Easy), Archie Renaux (Shadow and Bone), Isabela Merced (The Last of Us), Spike Fearn (Aftersun) and Aileen Wu, the R-rated sci-fi horror was produced by Alien legend Ridley Scott, who promisingly declared it as “f***king great.”
In Alien: Romulus, which Alvarez directs from a screenplay he wrote with frequent collaborator Rodo Sayagues:
While scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station, a group of young space colonizers come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe.
Rather than serving as another prequel to the original sci-fi/horror classic, Romulus is set between the events of Alien and Aliens, and has also been described tonally as an amalgamation of those two films.
Today’s new TV spot teaser might be the most intense one yet, seeing the crew come face to face with the drooling Xenomorph.
