It’s all fun and games until… well, you know. It’s amazing how much of what is intended for children is inherently very dark in nature. Fairy tales, for example, not the Disney-fied versions most of us have come to know, but the properly grim tales of the Brothers Grimm. Doling out morality lessons with more than just a dash of the macabre. And the fun doesn’t stop there, popular games for children like “Ring Around The Rosie” is about the Great Plague, but you’d never guess when you watch a group of small children with hands linked, going round in a circle and tumbling to the floor in a giggling glee.

Produced by the Russo Brothers and directed by Eren Celeboglu and Ari Costa, All Fun And Games taps into the macabre side of seemingly innocent children’s games. Starring Natalia Dyer (Stranger Things), Asa Butterfield (Flux Gourmet), Benjamin Evan Ainsworthย (Pinocchio),ย Laurel Marsdenย (Ms.Marvel),ย Kolton Stewartย (Locke & Key) &ย Annabeth Gishย (Midnight Mass), the story explores what happens when games go too far. Let’s take a look at the official synopsis.

All Fun and Gamesย explores the elements of cruelty inherent in childrenโ€™s games โ€“ Flashlight Tag, Hangman, Hide & Seek โ€“ and what happens when the games go too far. When a group of teens find a cursed knife in the woods, they unleash a malevolent demon that will not rest until it’s claimed all of their lives and souls in a terrifying deathmatch.

Sounds morbid. We’re in! And now, as promised, we have your sneak peek at an exclusive clip.

Hey kid, put that knife down! And didn’t anyone teach you it’s best not to read strange inscriptions carved into ancient objects out loud? Who knows what you might be summoning. He reads FANGORIA, so he should definitely know better. While he may be making all the mistakes when it comes to not summoning shit in your bedroom, we can’t knock his impeccable reading taste. All Fun And Games is coming to theaters and VOD September 1.
