AMFAD: All My Friends Are Dead

Premiering at Tribeca Film Festival later this week is AMFAD: All My Friends Are Dead, and People have today dropped a new clip giving us a peek at the “candy-coated and raucous new spin” on the slasher genre starring popstar JoJo Siwa.

Directed by Saw 3D writer and The Collector director Marcus Dunstan from a script by screenwriters Josh Sims and Jessica Sarah Flaum, AMFAD’s plot synopsis reads:

It should be the best party of the year: Karmapalooza, a massive music festival. When a group of college friends score tickets to the event, they set out on a road trip, packed into a minivan stashed with all the booze and weed they need. But a vehicular mishap forces them to spend the night inside an isolated Airbnb, which seems cool enough — after all, where better to party hard than in someone else’s house? Not so fast. Being stuck indoors together causes their internal rifts and shared past to surface. Even worse, an uninvited guest joins the party and decides they need to pay for their transgressions by murdering them in extremely gory ways tied to their specific sins.

Starring alongside Siwa are Jade Pettyjohn (Little Fires Everywhere), Jennifer Ens, Ali Fumiko Whitney, Michaella Russell, Julian Haig, Justin Derickson, Cardi Wong and Jack Doupe-Smith.

As we previously reported, Siwa is looking forward to trading bows for bloodshed, expressing her excitement in a statement:

“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the upcoming movie All My Friends Are Dead […] This is a project that is so different from anything I’ve done previously; however, I absolutely love horror movies and I can’t wait to start production! I’m also excited to work with Jade again. We worked together when we were younger and can’t wait to create this movie together.”

AMFAD is produced by John Baldecchi (Happy Death Day and Happy Death Day 2U). Dominic Ianno (Soul Surfer), Jason Resnick (Kidnap), and Kevin Greutert (Saw franchise), Clay Epstein of Film Mode Entertainment and Dan Rubin of Budding Equity are executive producing.

Following Tribeca, AMFAD: All My Friends Are Dead will release in theaters, digital and on demand on August 2.
