Chomping at the bit to get your eyes (and hands) on Suitable Flesh? Good news! The wait is almost over, if you missed Joe Lynch’s latest on the festival circuit, you can catch it at the movie theater later this month. But that sounds so far away! We hear you, and we’ve got an exclusive sneak peek to satiate your appetite while you wait.
Lynch’s latest feature film is an adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s “The Thing on the Doorstep” and stars some of our favorite people (including Barbara Crampton, Heather Graham, Bruce Davison, and Johnathon Schaech). The story follows psychiatrist Elizabeth Derby (Graham), who becomes obsessed with helping a young patient suffering from an extreme personality disorder. But her desire to help leads her into dark occult danger as she tries to escape a horrific fate. Check out Heather Graham and Barbara Crampton in action:
Hey, those orderlies looked kinda familiar, too! We recently caught Suitable Flesh for a packed midnight audience at Fantastic Fest (you can also catch it on FANGORIA subscriber cover #21, rolling into mailboxes all month). Lynch worked the crowd and recorded a special message for Flesh star Barbara Crampton, as the whole theater yelled into Joe’s phone: “Hi Barbara! We’re horny!” An erotic thriller in the vein of ’90s cable shockers, inspired by H.P. Lovecraft and Stuart Gordon, the body swap horror gets freaky in a multitude of ways, if you know what we mean. Cue the sexy sax and watch for our interview with Lynch coming soon.
Suitable Flesh will hit theaters and VOD on October 27th, before its premiere on Shudder in January of 2024.
