Horror icon and friend of FANGORIA Barbara Crampton (Re-Animator, Jakob’s Wife, Suitable Flesh) is adding another genre feature to her storied filmography with Teacher’s Pet, from writer and director Noam Kroll.
Also starring is Faith Based‘s Luke Barnett, Sara Tomko (Resident Alien), Drew Powell (Gotham), newcomer Michelle Torian, Kevin Makely (Young Rock), Clayton Royal Johnson (Stranger Things), Alexe-Anne Godin, Richard Handley (The Black String), and Alexis DawTyne.
The plot for Teacher’s Pet reads as follows:
Teacher’s Pet is set to portray a malevolent new high school teacher with a sinister past who becomes disturbingly fixated on a brilliant female student. As he unveils his true sociopathic nature, the young woman is forced to navigate a treacherous battle of wits to survive high school.
Just who Crampton is playing is not yet known, but anyone who’s seen even some of her legendary movies will know that she consistently brings to life iconic and, often, terrifying characters.
Launch Releasing’s founder and CEO Sheldon Brigman will produce Teacher’s Pet with Richard Handley, Kroll, Kayli Fortun and Brian Hanson. Barnett, Brigman, Kelby Thwaits and Charles Bunce will executive produce.
When talking to THR about Barnett’s role in the movie, Brigman hinted at a sinister and complex character:
“We’re so excited that Luke is bringing his considerable creative talents to our film and team. We’ve been blown away by Luke’s approach to this complex character and can’t wait to bring this multi-layered and powerful thriller to audiences.”
