Today brings a special announcement from the team behind Tim Burton’s highly-anticipated Beetlejuice sequel, which is currently in post-production on its way to an arrival in theaters later this year. Up to this point we’ve all been referring to this film as Beetlejuice 2, but it turns out that wasn’t official.

As you can see above, that’s Warner Bros. announcing Beetlejuice 2‘s title as Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, along with further confirmation that the film will hit theaters on September 6th. The new titles clears the way for a trilogy ending in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, but for the sake of our headlines let’s hope things don’t get that far.

As previously reported, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice stars a number of returning cast members from Burton’s original, including Winona Ryder, Catherine O’Hara, and Michael Keaton, as well as a variety of newcomers, including Willem Dafoe, Monica Bellucci, Jenna Ortega, and Justin Theroux.

There’s a long way to go between now and September, so stay tuned for more on Beetlejuice Beetlejuice as further updates roll in.
