Anyone who’s paid attention to the world of comedy over the past two decades is surely familiar with the name Joe Lo Truglio: one of the founding members of MTV’s The State, Lo Truglio has also appeared in some of the funniest movies and TV shows of the modern era, including Superbad, Party Down, Reno 911!, and the dearly-departed Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

This weekend, however, Lo Truglio is taking on a new role: horror director. Outpost is now available to rent wherever PVOD services can be found! To mark the occasion, the director and his star (and offscreen wife!) Beth Dover sat down to answer some of your most burning questions about the film, and have compiled the results into a handy-dandy little video.

Take a look.

Is it just us, or is it hard to stop staring at that axe in the background?

For those who haven’t been keeping up, here’s an official plot synopsis for Outpost:

“After a violent assault, Kate asks her best friend Nickie for help escaping an abusive ex. Nic’s brother, Earl, hires Kate as a fire lookout in northern Idaho. Kate feels the peaceful solitude will help.”

Guess what? The peaceful solitude does not help, and things get very freaky for Kate while she’s up on that mountain. Those who’d like to hear more about Outpost can check out this week’s episode of FANGORIA’s THE KINGCAST, wherein Lo Truglio tells hosts Eric Vespe and Scott Wampler all about how this film came together, the other films that inspired it (ahem, The Shining), and discusses Stephen King’s legendarily gross Skeleton Crew short story, “Survivor Type.”

Anyone wishing to see Outpost can do so as we speak. Go give it a whirl via your preferred PVOD outlet!
