The Art of Goosebumps has compiled every cover ever created for R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps series. The art for the books is just as iconic as the stories themselves. When someone mentions, The Haunted Mask, sure it conjures up memories of a cursed Halloween costume, melting itself onto and melding with the skin of the wearer. And it is impossible to not simultaneously conjure up the vivid image of a little girl in overalls, purple shirt, purple background, with a hideous gaping-mouthed green mask clasped between her hands, obscuring her face as she prepares to place it on her head, a ponytail popping out over the top of the mask, just so. Or how about the cover art of Monster Blood, featuring a slimy, green goo dripping down an unassuming wooden staircase.
R.L. Stine and Scholastic took school book fairs by storm when Goosebumps hit the stands in 1992. Stine penned horror stories just spooky enough to allow for a certain amount of danger while still keeping it enjoyable for kids. The Art of Goosebumps features “tons of fun facts about the series alongside a walkthrough of all books and covers in the Goosebumps collections.” Author Sarah Rodriguez and artist of over 100 Goosebumps covers, Tim Jacobus have compiled the ultimate collection of Goosebumps cover art.
