In an exclusive today, Deadline have revealed that horror icons Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2) and Lin Shaye (Insidious franchise, The Grudge) are set to star in upcoming horror Scared to Death.
Director Paul Boyd (I, Challenger) also wrote the script. Eric Barrett (Echo in the Canyon) and Shaye producing. Deadline tells us that:
The feature from Mirror Films follows a group of young filmmakers who enter an abandoned children’s orphanage in order to do research for a movie…and that’s their first mistake.
Olivier Paris (How I Met Your Father) and Victoria Konefal (Days of Our Lives) are also on board to get Scared to Death, with the film heading into production in Los Angeles in March.
Boyd, who was born in Scotland and now resides in Los Angeles, has directed over 30 music videos for a huge range of artists and genres, from deadmau5 to Celine Dion. His most recent feature, I, Challenger, starred Donnie Darko‘s James Duval as a stoner who resorts to ‘a dangerous scheme involving the livestream of a self-burial video.’
Between them, Shaye and Moseley have too many horror credits to count, and Scared to Death will actually mark their third feature together after 2010’s horror-comedy 2001 Maniacs: Field of Screams and the 2019 erotic horror Gothic Harvest.
Needless to say, whatever’s in store for the pair when they enter that abandoned orphanage, we’ll be watching with great interest.
