Moritz Mohr’s bloody and brutal genre-bender Boy Kills World hits theaters on April 26, and we have your exclusive first look at a behind-the-scenes featurette with the director. Produced by Sam Raimi, the movie is a collaboration six years in the making, from a proof-of-concept trailer to a feature directorial debut starring Bill Skarsgård as a bonafide action baddie.

This can best be described as The Hunger Games by way of the Shaw Brothers. In our FANGORIA interview with Moritz Mohr, the director shared some of his biggest influences: “The Revenge Trilogy by Park Chan-wook. Those are three of my favorite movies. There’s definitely some Deadpool influences there and definitely on the action side, some John Wick stuff.”

In a recent statement, Raimi expressed his excitement for Boy Kills World, saying:

Mohr brings a distinct visual style and an unbridled imagination to the screen, creating an original, outrageous, and visceral thrill ride. Boy Kills World‘s eclectic cast, eye-popping stunt sequences, and deranged sense of humor will blow audiences away.

Here’s Boy Kills World director Moritz Mohr describing his movie in one sentence:

A fucked up fairy tale? We’d say that’s pretty accurate! Grab your Frosty Puffs and head to the theater April 26th to see Boy Kills World on the big screen. For more, check out our full interview with Mohr right here.
