Danny and Michael Philippou’s Talk to Me was a great, big hit for the folks at A24, grossing over $90M at the worldwide box office and immediately established the Australian brothers as a major new talent. It didn’t take long for A24 to greenlight a sequel, Talk to Me 2, and while that is still very much in the works, the brothers also have another film set up with the studio: Bring Her Back.

We learned not long ago that Sally Hawkins would be headlining the film, but thanks to a new report over at Variety, we now know who she’ll be joined by: Billy Barratt, the young star of Invasion, (and soon to be seen in this year’s Kraven the Hunter), Jonah Wren Phillips (of Netflix’s Sweet Tooth), Sally-Anne Upton (Wentworth), Stephen Phillips (The Leftovers), and a newcomer by the name of Sora Wong.

Unfortunately, we still don’t know much about the movie itself! When Deadline originally broke the story back in April, their report only noted that “plot details are being kept under wraps on the secretive project,” before adding that the film would be produced by Talk To Me duo Samantha Jennings and Kristina Ceyton of Causeway Films, whose previous credits include The Babadookย andย The Nightingale. Of course we’re expecting this to be a horror film, but what particular flavor or horror it might offer remains to be seen.

We’re hyped to learn more about Bring Her Back (and, indeed, Talk to Me 2) as further updates become available. Stay tuned for those and, in the meantime, if you still haven’t seen Talk to Me, rectify that immediately. It’s one of the best horror movies of the past five years.
