Vicious, the upcoming horror from Paramount Pictures and The Strangers director Bryan Bertino, has rounded out a cast that includes lead Dakota Fanning with new additions Kathryn Hunter (Poor Things), ย Mary McCormack (The West Wing), Rachel Blanchard (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Devyn Nekoda (Scream VI), Klea Scott (Millennium), and Emily Mitchell (Ordinary Angels), Deadline have reported exclusively today.
The film, also written by Bertino, and executive produced by Melinda Whitaker, follows:
…a young woman who, after being left with a strange present from a late-night visitor, must spend the night fighting for her existence as she slips down a disturbing rabbit hole contained inside the gift.
Deadline also let us know thatย Vicious will hit theaters on August 8, 2025 – so we’ve got a fair while to wait, but with a cast like that and a director like Bertino on board (his last movie, 2020’sย The Dark and the Wicked was downright terrifying), it’s never too early to start getting hyped.
Bertino’sย The Strangers – currently in the process of being rebooted as a trilogy by Deep Blue Sea‘s Renny Harlin – changed the game of home invasion horror and pulled in $83 million at the box office against a $9 million budget – here’s hopingย Vicious can do the same.
