Moon Garden, the upcoming dark fantasy horror from director Ryan Stevens Harris gets a gorgeous new poster today from distributor Oscilloscope Laboratories (The Love Witch, We Need to Talk About Kevin), as well as some screening dates that we can assure you you do not want to miss if you’re in the area.
Moon Garden, which stars Haven Lee Harris, Augie Duke, Brionne Davis, and Maria Olsen will open theatrically in 35mm at New York City’s IFC Center on May 19th and May 20th, before heading over to LA’s Alamo Drafthouse on May 26th and 27th, where viewers can enjoy a live Q&A with Stevens Harris and producer John Michael Elfers.
Since debuting last year at Los Angeles’ Dances With Films Festival, Moon Garden has been generating quite the buzz among genre fans, and once you read the synopsis (and check out the trailer below) you’ll see why:
Shot on expired 35mm film stock with vintage lenses, Moon Garden is a fantastical odyssey and a visionary, handcrafted work of art. When a little girl has a terrible accident and slips into a coma, she finds herself thrust into a darkly surreal industrial dreamworld. Haunted by a nightmarish specter that feeds off her tears, she must follow her motherโs radio-static voice to find her way back to consciousness.
Of course, no dreamy and disturbing odyssey into a child’s mind would be complete without a monster, and luckily Moon Garden looks set to deliver on nightmare fuel in that regard. The terrifying Teeth (played by Morgana Ignis) can be seen looming over poor little Haven Lee Harris’ Emma in the full stunning poster:
If you thought the poster was a work of art, just wait till you check out the trailer below. Once you’ve finished tearing up, get yourself some screening tickets and catch Moon Garden in all its glory on the big screen.
