The Home Depot is absolutely killing the Halloween game this year. They just unveiled their new collection, which offers a little something for everyone. Whether you’re just starting out or have been in the home haunter game for some time.
A major highlight this year is the 3.5-foot animated Chucky doll. The Home Depot has had enormous success with their original creations (see the viral 12-foot Skelly) but this licensed pairing is pretty interesting. The mechanics of the face allow for some evil grimacing. Pretty impressive coming in at $199.99. Take a look below for full details (and a preview of Chuckyisms) included with this animated, talking Chucky doll.
If you already own a 12-foot-tall skeleton, there are some new accessory options for Skelly. If the original Skelly looks just a little too friendly for you, do a simple head swap for some more foreboding vibes.
My, what expressive eyes you have! The newest version of Skelly features LED eyes that change according to the holiday. We’ve seen plenty of folks leave their skeletons up year-round, theming them out for different occasions. Now there are eyes to match.
If you have an older generation Skelly, fret not! You can purchase the Skelly Eye Kit separately ($29.98).
Another standout this year is the Orlok-like 7-foot Animated Victorian Vampire. The detailing on his coat and face (look at those eyebrows!) is pretty impressive. There’s also a pirate in the mix, in the form of the 7-foot animated Captain Cuts.
If you’re feeling particularly beastly this Halloween season, the 5.5 foot animated Fear Valley Wolf may be exactly what you’re looking for. The fur detailing (and lack thereof) is eerily realistic, and the mechanics work in such a way that the wolf can actually give a little snarl of the lips to strike an added dash of horror into the hearts of your neighborhood trick-or-treaters.
The collection is designed in such a way that it can be built upon in piece-by-piece increments over time. The elements thematically work together to ultimately create a massive Halloween graveyard scene, from skull and bone or jack-o-lantern archways to soul slashers, witches, and all manner of monstrous characters.
The 7-foot animated Frankenstein’s Monster is, of course, a favorite for Monster Kids like us. Give us classic horror icons and candy corn all day. Just looking at this guy, I can already smell the dense clouds puffing out of the fog machine and the sagging trick-or-treat bags.
The main thing about the collection is that they aim to make it accessible to a wider range of folks, with items coming in at affordable price points. Hell, even the massive animatronics on the pricier end are more accessible than most things. When I was a kid, even a decent mask was expensive, let alone a full-blown animatronic. Owning something like that was a pipe dream, and now it’s become affordable enough that multiple houses on a block will have a few pieces standing guard in the front yard during the Halloween season. We love to see it.
This is just a small sampling of the collection, for the full lineup check out the official Home Depot site. The Home Depot Halloween Collection will launch onlineย on July 18, 2024.
