In highly expected – but still exciting – news, Chucky will continue his reign of terror later this year over on USA and SyFy after being renewed for Season 3. Season 2 premiered in October and ran through the end of November, with NBCU reporting that the show ranked as a top ten drama last year in the 18-49 demo.

In a statement, Chucky creator Don Mancini expressed his gratitude towards fans and their outpouring of love for the mini maniac;

The cast and crew ofย Chucky would like to thank fans and critics alike for their overwhelming response to season two, which weโ€™re delighted to announce has now spurred the official greenlight on season three. This news has made Chucky very happy. Thank Damballa for that because otherwise Chucky would have been frankly impossible to deal with. Many thanks also to our partners at SYFY, USA and UCP for helping us keep Chucky busy. See you in 2023 for what Chucky himself promises will be hisย scariest season ever.

Chucky has been a huge hit with both fans and newcomers to the franchise, with audiences praising the show’s scares, humour and LGBTQ+ representation. The show’s cast of characters including Zackary Arthur (Jake) Bjรถrgvin Arnarson (Devon) and Alyvia Alyn Lind (Lexy) have also been positively received, as of course have returning icons Jennifer Tilly (Tiffany), Devon Sawa (playing his third role in Season 2 as Father Bryce) and Fiona and Brad Dourif (Charles Lee Ray and voice of Chucky respectively).

No exact release date for Chucky‘s third season has been announced, so stay tuned for more updates as we get ’em!
