Currently gracing the latest cover of FANGORIA is Chucky creator Don Mancini (alongside the series’ two most frequently-bickering stars, the titular Chucky and actor Devon Sawa), who recently popped up in a new interview over at The Direct to share a few thoughts on his blockbuster USA/SYFY series.

Asked whether he’s already got a plan in place for a fourth season of the show, Mancini shares:

“Thereโ€™s very little I can say about that. I canโ€™t tell you my idea for Season 4, but Iโ€™m really excited about it. I already pitched it to the network. So fingers crossed because itโ€™s something I really like to do.

“I think itโ€™s really fun, new, and again, another left turn in terms of what weโ€™ve been doing so far. We donโ€™t know the status of the show yet. So again, fingers crossed that we will get picked up, right?”

Chucky taking a sudden narrative turn? Yup, that definitely sounds like the Chucky we know, and we’re delighted that this completely unpredictable series will maintain that unpredictability should the powers-that-be bring it back for another season. That hasn’t quite happened yet, but with the show’s popularity running as strong as it ever has, we’d honestly be shocked if it didn’t get another greenlight.

In the meantime, then, we are left to speculate about what Chucky‘s fourth season might entail. Perhaps this is the “Chucky goes to space” concept Mancini teased us with a while back? Hell, maybe the third season will end in an apocalypse, and season 4 will end up bearing a striking resemblance to Fallout. We would also sign off on an entirely-musical season, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. Might wanna save that one for the grand finale.

Nothing further to report on Chucky at this time, but do be aware that the show is wrapping up its third season on USA/SYFY as we speak, with new episodes dropping on Wendesdays. Enjoy that, and do stay tuned for further updates on Chucky‘s proposed fourth season as they become available.
