Chapelwaite is coming to EPIX August 22, and we are ready. We sat down with producers Peter and Jason Filardi and Donald De Line to talk about what we can expect from the upcoming Stephen King adaptation. Plenty of squirmy worm talk and body horror! In case you missed it, here’s a quick rundown of the synopsis.

Set in the 1850s, the Chapelwaite follows Captain Charles Boone (Adrien Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the small, seemingly sleepy town of Preacherโ€™s Corners, Maine after his wife diesโ€ฏat sea.โ€ฏHowever,โ€ฏCharlesโ€ฏwill soon have toโ€ฏconfrontโ€ฏthe secrets ofโ€ฏhis familyโ€™s sordid history,โ€ฏand fight to end the darkness that has plagued the Boones for generations.

Emily Hampshire plays Rebecca Morgan,ย an ambitiousย young woman who left Preacherโ€™s Corners to attendโ€ฏMount Holyoke College,ย and has returned homeย with anย advanceโ€ฏto write a story for the new and prestigiousย Atlantic Magazine. โ€ฏHer writerโ€™s block lifts when Boone arrives in town with his children, and despite her motherโ€™s protests,ย Rebecca applies to be governess of the infamousย Chapelwaiteย manor and the Boone family in order to writeโ€ฏabout them. In doing so, Rebecca will not only craft the next great gothic novel, sheโ€™ll unravel a mystery that has plagued her own family for years.

In addition to Brody, the series is executive produced by Donald Deโ€ฏLine (Ready Player One,โ€ฏWayward Pines), Jasonโ€ฏFilardi, Peter Filardi and Burr Steers. Chapelwaite is produced by EPIX Studios.
