ABIGAIL Kathryn Newton Dan Stevens

Abigail has landed on our newsstand cover and makes its way to theaters this weekend. The blood-soaked tale of a vampire ballerina and her kidnappers is the type of horror comedy that riles up an audience, just the way we like it!

Abigail stars Kathryn Newton and Dan Stevens joined us to chat about the very specific Gwen Stefani influence on Kathryn’s look, which Kathryn describes as starting out with: “Can we go full Gwen? Gwen Stefani meets I don’t know exactly.”

And speaking of very specific influences, Stevens’ character’s name may sound familiar to fans. It was a last-minute change that resulted in a nice homage mashup. The collaboration between the cast and directors Radio Silence (Ready Or NotScream franchise) results in fully formed, larger-than-life characters. From custom tattoos to choreographed dances, Kathryn cites the freedom to play in this space as the reason she loves the genre.

We also get into the duo’s picks for their eclectic Avengers-style vampire-hunting dream team, discover their love for Gary Numan, uncover a solid argument for marmalade sandwiches as practical and resourceful weapons, and inadvertently stumble upon a very compelling commercial for Uno Flip.
