Here’s an unexpected bit of exciting news: according to a new report over at Collider, David Dastmalchian (most recently seen in this year’s The Last Voyage of the Demeter and Stephen King adaptation The Boogeyman) has joined the cast of Dust Bunny, the feature directorial debut of Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller.
Says Collider:
“Collider has exclusively learned that Dastmalchian has joined Mads Mikkelsen and Sigourney Weaver in the Entertainment One and Thunder Road production about an eight-year-old girl who enlists the help of her intriguing neighbor to kill the monster under her bed that she believes ate her family.”
Collider’s report further describes Dust Bunny as “a throwback to the family horror films of the ’80s,” which seems to tell us what sort of tone Fuller and company will be aiming for here. It does not, however, tell us who Dastmalchian (or, indeed, Mikkelsen and Weaver) will be playing in the film. Who knows? Maybe one of them is mo-capping the monster under the bed!
As of this writing, there’s no timeline on when we might see Dust Bunny land in theaters, but of course we’ll be keeping you informed as further updates roll in. Stay tuned for those and, in the meantime, keep an eye out for anything that might be lurking under your bed.
