Here’s a fun little story, as spotted by the good folks over at Bloody Disgusting: it would appear the HBO Max app may have accidentally tipped its hand as to the premiere date of the network’s forthcoming horror-drama, The Last of Us, the highly-anticipated video game series adaptation starring Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, and Gabriel Luna.

The date – which, it must be said, could very well be nothing more than a placeholder, so do take all of the following with a big grain of salt – was first noticed by the Naughty Dog Central Twitter account late last night:

Although it’s still technically possible that the date’s a placeholder, BD reports that Video Game Chronicle has confirmed the date as legit, which (according to that January 15th, 2023 release date) indicates that we are only 2.5 months away from getting a look at this bad boy. This is very exciting! Everything we’ve seen from The Last of Us thus far has been highly encouraging, and off-the-record chatter about the series continues to indicate that Craig Mazin and company have knocked this one outta the park.

Guess we’ll find out soon enough! Stay tuned for further updates on The Last of Us as they roll in; we’re keeping a close eye on this one and will keep you informed every step of the way.
