Just ahead of the film’s premiere at the Popcorn Frights Film Festival later this week, we here at Fango are proud to bring you the exclusive trailer for Deliver Us. The film hails from writer/director duo Lee Roy Kunz and Cru Ennis with a new take on the coming of the Anti-Christ. But this little spin on the familiar tale has the added bonus of a snowy setting, which adds an element to the proceedings. Check it out.
Much to discuss here but, truly, that snow-covered setting does a lot. Not enough horror movies set in the snow, if I do say so myself. Beyond that, we’ve got a bit of a Rosemary’s Baby vibe going on, mixed with a little bit of an exorcism flick flavor. Good company to be in. There are some truly striking visuals here and it looks like there’s going to be plenty of jump scare fodder to play well with a crowd. As for the story at hand? The official synopsis for the film reads as follows:
“When a nun in a remote convent claims immaculate conception, the Vatican sends a team of priests to investigate, concerned about an ancient prophecy that a woman will give birth to twin boys: one the Messiah, the other the Anti-Christ.”
Aside from the trailer, we’ve also got a pretty impressive poster for the film, which you can check out below. The cast includes Maria Vera Ratti, Lee Roy Kunz, Aleksander Mikoš McCarthy, Hans Robert Varts, Alexander Siddig, Jaune Kimmel and Thomas Kretschmann. As mentioned, Deliver Us will be holding its world premiere at the Popcorn Frights Film Festival in Fort Lauderdale, on August 10th. So those attending would do well to put this on their radar. You can check out the full fourth-wave lineup for the festival right here.
But for those who won’t be at the festival, fear not! The folks at Magnet Releasing have acquired the rights to the movie and it will be arriving both in theaters and on VOD next month. So be it from the comfort of home or with a crowd full of fellow horror fans, you will have the opportunity to check this one out sooner rather than later.
Deliver Us arrives in theaters and VOD on September 29.
