Emile Hirsch (Into the Wild, The Autopsy of Jane Doe) stars in bloody revenge thriller Walden (previously known as The Stenographer) from Modigliani director Mick Davis – and we’re excited to bring you a brand new exclusive clip today, courtesy of Uncork’d Entertainment!
In what Collider has described as “his creepiest role yet”, Hirsch stars as:
Walden Dean, a stenographer, whose mind witnessed all types of injustices in the courtroom.ย After discovering he has a terminal illness, repressed anger deep within him surfaces – taking justice into his own hands in the most gruesome ways imaginable.
Alongside Hirsch, Walden also stars Shane West (A Walk to Remember), Kelli Garner (Horns), Tania Raymonde (Goliath) and David Keith (An Officer and a Gentleman).
In his director’s statement, Davis (who also wrote the script) expressed his excitement about introducing the world to Walden Dean:
Sometimes, in the movie business, if the stars align and if youโre blessed, you get to do a piece of work that resonates in such a way, you know the process from writing to reaching the audience will live with you forever… this was the situation with Walden. From the moment Ron, Seth and Sara greenlit the movie and Emile was cast we all knew something special was going on; it was in the air, tangible and spiritual. Especially with the way Emile approached his character, not to mention the wonderful cast that surrounded him. Walden Dean is and will remain, for all of us involved, a very special, a very complex and a very adorable vigilante, who you cannot help but understand and love.
You can catch Walden in select theaters from November 10, and on demand and digital from December 12. To get you hyped, here’s that exclusive clip we mentioned, one that gives us a sneak peek into Walden’s less-than-stable mental state…
