We’ve been waiting to share a trailer for Jason Eisener’s Kids vs. Aliens with you ever since catching the film at Fantastic Fest back in September, and today (thanks to the good folks over at Collider) we’ve finally got one! A new poster, too!

But first, let’s get the official plot synopsis out of the way…

All Gary wants is to make awesome home movies with his best buds. All his older sister Samantha wants is to hang with the cool kids. When their parents head out of town one Halloween weekend, an all-time rager of a teen house party turns to terror when aliens attack, forcing the siblings to band together to survive the night.

And if that sounds fun to you, wait’ll you see this trailer:

As you can gather from that trailer, Kids vs. Aliens is a high-energy, raucous hoot of a genre film … with the added bonus of being filtered through the gritty, gonzo mind of Hobo with a Shotgun director Jason Eisener. It stars Are You Afraid of The Dark?‘s Dominic Mariche and The Last Divide‘s Phoebe Rex alongside Calem MacDonald (Umbrella Academy), Asher Grayson Percival, and Ben Tector. Oh, and if you’re the type of viewer who’s been bristling lately about film runtimes being entirely too damn long, do note that Kids vs. Aliens gleefully kicks ass across a blissfully brisk 75 minutes.

Kids vs. Aliens will hit theaters, On Demand, and digital on January 20th, but do be aware that we’ll have more to share on Eisener’s film in Vol. 2, Issue #18 of the new FANGORIA (you should snag your copy here if you haven’t already; beyond the Kids vs. Aliens stuff, this issue’s packed with awesome coverage of current and upcoming horror offerings). Stay tuned for more on this one as we get closer to the release date, everyone!
