Last week we took a look at the very first trailer for Mike Flanagan’s forthcoming Netflix series, The Fall of the House of Usher. Based on a variety of Edgar Allen Poe tales and allegedly one of the wildest things Flanagan’s ever written/directed, this is one of our most highly-anticipated 2023 releases … and it’ll be here in just a matter of weeks!

With that premiere date coming up with a quickness, Netflix has begun shedding a bit more light on Flanagan’s latest. Today, it’s a brand new clip, one wherein the various members of the Usher family share a somewhat intense dinner.

Let’s take a look…

Oh, yes. This will do nicely. Much like the trailer that preceded it, this clip indicates that The Fall of the House of Usher will feel just a little different from Flanagan’s previous Netflix efforts. Whereas shows like The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass felt a bit more melancholy and grief-stricken, Usher seems to be playing a more devilishly cheeky game. There’s an arch tone at work here that’s very intriguing, and we’re very curious to find out if the rest of the series matches it.

For anyone who hasn’t been keeping up…

“In this wicked 8-episode limited series based on the works of Edgar Allan Poe, ruthless siblings Roderick and Madeline Usher have built Fortunato Pharmaceuticals into an empire of wealth, privilege and power. But past secrets come to light when the heirs to the Usher dynasty start dying at the hands of a mysterious woman from their youth.โ€

As per usual, Flanagan’s working with a number of Flanaverse regulars here, including Carla Gugino, Carl Lumbly, Bruce Greenwood, Kate Siegel and Rahul Kohli, but he’s also got a handful of newcomers on hand, including Mark Hamill and Mary McDonnell. They’re joined by (deep breath) Michael Trucco, Tโ€™Nia Miller, Paola Nuรฑez, Henry Thomas, Kyleigh Curran, Samantha Sloyan, Sauriyan Sapkota, Zach Gilford, Willa Fitzgerald, Katie Parker, Malcolm Goodwin, Crystal Balint, Aya Furukawa, Daniel Jun, Matt Biedel, Ruth Codd, Annabeth Gish, Igby Rigneyย andย Robert Longstreet. Good lord. Is anyone not in Fall of the House of Usher?

We’re very excited for this one, and will keep you informed as further updates roll in between now and The Fall of the House of Usher‘s October 12th arrival on Netflix. Stay tuned, folks.
