We love coming out to live events and meeting you creeps in the flesh. From conventions and film festivals to trivia nights and screenings, here a few places you’ll find the Fango team popping up soon.

So far this summer, Dr. Rebekah McKendry and Elric Kane will be coming up to Canada for a live episode of Colors of the Dark from the Fantasia Film Festival, your humble Digital Editor will be heading to San Diego Comic-Con for some panels then back to Long Beach, CA for Midsummer Scream, and Creative Director Jason Kauzlarich has a fun trivia night and screening in store for Austin, TX.     FANGORIA presents the COLORS OF THE DARK Podcast live at the Fantasia Film Festival! Join hosts Dr. Rebekah McKendry (professor, writer-director) and Elric Kane (professor, writer-director) as they explore the artistry and impact of the horror films of the 1980s.

    The duo will be joined by Director Chuck Russell (A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM WARRIORS, THE BLOB, THE MASK) to discuss the โ€™80s sequels and remakes that launched his career, and his latest re-imagining of WITCHBOARD.

    The interview will be followed by a visual exploration of the VHS cover art that shaped their tastes, a reflection on the video-store boom and its influence on modern horror, and a countdown of their favourite deep-cut film recommendations from the โ€™80s.

    The queer community has had a long history with the horror genre, from the lesbian vampires of Gothic literature to modern fare like They/Them and The Boulet Brothers Dragula. Does a queer horror genre exist, and if so, what makes it different from mainstream horror? Furthermore, how does the current political climate alter the lens through which this community celebrates and connects to the macabre?

    Prism Comics' and moderator/screenwriter Michael Varrati (Thereโ€™s a Zombie Outside, The Midnight Mass Podcast) joins an array of panelists including Sean Abley (Queer Horror: A Film Guide, Fangoriaโ€™s Gay of the Dead), Casey Gilly (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Archie Horror), Angel Melanson (Queer for Fear, Into The Darkness: Part III), Armando Munoz (Silent Night, Deadly Night and Happy Birthday to Me novelizations), Heather O. Petrocelli (Queer for Fear: Horror Film and the Queer Spectator), and William O. Tyler (Theater of Terror: Revenge of the Queers, We Belong)!
