We’ve been closely following the news of Eli Roth’s holiday horror Thanksgiving, since it was revealed earlier this year that the sleazy exploitation movie he teased via faux trailer in 2007’s Grindhouse was becoming a real life feature. It’s been 16 years of waiting but we’re now closer than ever to gobbling up Thanksgiving, as Sony have announced that filming on the slasher is finally under way!
Incase you can’t remember that far back, here’s the trailer to refresh your memory;
Theย Thanksgivingย trailer presented the gory teaser about a pseudo movie in which a slasher makes his own carving board out of the inhabitants of a Massachusetts town that makes a big annual fuss over the annual turkey day.
Thanksgiving stars TikTok star Addison Rae, Bound‘s Gina Gershon and Patrick Dempsey returning to his horror roots. Jalen Thomas Brooksย (Walker),ย Milo Manheimย (Zombies),ย Nell Verlaqueย (Big Shot), Tim Dillonย andย Rick Hoffmanย (Hostel) will also star.
Sony announced the excited news via the tweet seen below, which teases that ‘there will be no leftovers’ and gives us a peek at Roth’s director chair.
TriStar Pictures and Spyglass Media Groupโs turkey-based (get it?) terror was co-written by Roth and Jeff Rendell, and will be produced by Roger Birnbaum, Roth and Rendell.
We’ve been reporting all the Thanksgiving news as we get it, so best believe we’ll be serving you a trailer on a platter as soon as it’s prepared!
