This morning, Entertainment Weekly dropped the very first trailer for Travis Stevens’ A Wounded Fawn, which recently screened to rave reviews at both Fantastic Fest and Beyond Fest. Starring Werewolves Within director Josh Ruben and Sarah Lind (who also appeared in Stevens’ Jakob’s Wife), this is one of the year’s best horror movies – hallucinogenic, gritty, and downright weird.

Let’s take a look…

So, as you can see, Bruce (Ruben) invites his new girlfriend Meredith (Lind) for a nice, relaxing weekend at a remote cabin in the woods. Great news for Meredith, you’d think, except that Bruce also happens to be a serial killer. Stevens describes the film to EW as “a hallucinogenic cocktail of Greek mythology, surrealist paintings, and 1970’s genre cinema, [which] aims to put the audience inside the minds of both a serial killer and his latest victim.”

Anyone who’s seen Girl on The Third Floor or Jakob’s Wife knows that Travis Stevens knows how to deliver a great horror film, and we’re happy to report that A Wounded Fawn continues the trend. And the even better news? This one’ll be available to everyone with a Shudder subscription in just a few weeks! Mark your calendars, buy some wine, and watch it with a loved one on December 1st.
