Today Paramount+ reveals the poster and first images from their upcoming film Pet Sematary: Bloodlines.
A prequel to the 2019 film, Pet Sematary: Bloodlines reimagines the first encounter young Jud Crandall has with the sour earth deep inside Ludlow, Maine. Plot details, as per Paramount+, are as follows:
In 1969, a young Jud Crandall has dreams of leaving his hometown of Ludlow, Maine behind, but soon discovers sinister secrets buried within and is forced to confront a dark family history that will forever keep him connected to Ludlow. Banding together, Jud and his childhood friends must fight an ancient evil that has gripped Ludlow since its founding, and once unearthed has the power to destroy everything in its path.
The film stars Jackson White, Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Henry Thomas, Natalie Alyn Lind and Isabella Star LaBlanc, with Pam Grier and David Duchovny. Itโs directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer (in her directorial debut), written by Beer and Jeff Buhler (based, obviously, on the novel Pet Sematary by Stephen King), and produced by Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Mark Vahradian. The film hits Paramount+ on October 6th in the US, Canada, Latin America and Brazil, and the following day in all other international markets.
What say you? Theyโre going with โbased on the untold chapter from Pet Sematary, Stephen Kingโs chilling novelโ in the press materials, but bumping the whole thing up to 1969 to fit the remakeโs timeline looks to give the proceedings a Vietnam-era, Deathdream vibe. Which is not a bad thing, in our opinionโฆ
