Post-apocalyptic creature feature Walking Against The Rain is coming to digital and home video May 23 and we have an exclusive reveal of the brand new trailer. Following a festival run including a sold-out world premiere at Frightfest in the UK, Trieste Science+Fiction Film Festival in Italy, Panic Fest, and taking home Best Overall Film at Nightmares Film Festival, Scott Lyus’ debut feature film is coming home.
Lyus knew exactly what he wanted this to be from the inception, โFrom the offset, I knew a character-driven exploration into loss, grief and human connection, hidden within an old-school practical effects monster movie wouldnโt be for everybody. But following an overwhelmingly positive reaction from festival audiences, I am beyond excited to see our little monster movie reach a whole new audience.” Here’s the official synopsis:
Walking Against The Rain tells the story of two strangers, Blair and Tommy, who are navigating their way across a barren landscape in a desperate attempt to find each other. With their only form of communication being two soon-to-die battery operated radio mics and with a new evil monster in the shape of ‘The Forsaken’ tracking them down, they must learn to confront loss and rediscover a trust in humanity.
“Walking Against the Rain is a project born out of love and passion to create something a little different. Itโs a monster movie that promises incredible practical creature effects but also a heartfelt and emotional character study. And I am thrilled to have teamed with Gravitas Ventures to bring the film to North American genre fans, ” Lyus adds. Now, let’s take a look at that exclusive trailer, as promised!
Wow! We don’t know what we’re running from just yet, but we know well enough to run first, ask questions later. The film stars Sophia Eleni (Call the Midwife, Black Mass), Reece Douglas (Cruel Summer, Waterloo Road), Johnny Vivash (Charismata, Rendel: Dark Vengeance), Francesca Louise White, Diane Spencer and James Swanton (Host, Broadcast Signal Intrusion). With full-body practical creature effects from BIFA award-winning FX designer Dan Martin (Infinity Pool, Censor, Color Out of Space).
