Funko just announced a new battle board game based on the popular horror video game franchise Five Nights At Freddy’s. Coming this October, exclusively from GameStop, the game (officially titled Five Nights at Freddyโs FightLine) will offer a Premier Set along with character expansion packs to build teams for head-to-head battle. The game will of course feature fan-favorite characters, here’s a look at the official game synopsis from Funko.
Featuring the creepy characters from the Five Nights at Freddyโs (FNAF) franchise including Freddy Fazbear, Chica the Chicken, Foxy the Pirate and more, Five Nights at Freddyโs FightLine challenges players to out-smart, out-fight and out-fright their rival robots. The Premier Set offers fans four terrifying figurines with their own unique abilities and attacks creating an immersive gameplay with endless strategies. Players can further their gameplay with the FNAF FightLine Character Packs with the opportunity to collect up to 16 additional FNAF characters. With so many combinations of abilities, there are countless ways to watch your nightmare come to life and win control of Freddyโs Pizzeria.
The two-player game will retail for about $19.99 for the Premier Set, and expansion packs will go for $4.99. Now let’s get into some detailed looks of the actual board game and pieces.
Blumhouse’s film adaptation of the horror game franchise is in theaters October 27, starring Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games franchise), Elizabeth Lail (You), Piper Rubio (Holly & Ivy, Unstable), Kat Conner Sterling (We Have a Ghost), Mary Stuart Masterson (Blindspot) and Scream king Matthew Lillard, Five Nights at Freddyโs is directed by Emma Tammi (The Wind, Blood Moon). Tammi also co-wrote alongside FNAF franchise creators Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback.
If you’re not familiar with the giant, media-spanning horror phenomenon that is Five Nights at Freddy’s, the first film in what could potentially become a three-movie franchise loosely adapts the plot of the original 2014 point-and-click game:
The film follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbearโs Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddyโs wonโt be so easy to make it through.
The upcoming tabletop game follows the same premise, battle the evil animatronic robots and survive until dawn! Five Nights at Freddyโs FightLine will be available on FunkoGames.com and available exclusively at GameStop.com October 1, a nice way to prep for the movie’s release at the end of the month.
