The VFX team at MPC has helped create over 50 of the most iconic film and episodic horror titles of the past 25 years. From the world of Tim Burton to Jordan Peele’s Nope to working with modern master Guillermo del Toro on titles like The Strain, Crimson Peak, Antlers, Nightmare Alley, and more.
MPC provided nearly every VFX scene in Prey, including digital augmentation to the Predator itself, as well as heightened gore, CG arrows, and various environmental enhancements. The team was also tasked with creating “a small zoo’s worth” of CG North American wildlife, including a grizzly bear, mountain lion, cougars, and a wolf, amongst others.
Luke Groves, Senior VP of MPC says, “MPC has contributed iconic imagery to the horror genre for over two decades. We’ve brought video game franchises and book series to the screen, such as Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Goosebumps, and Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark, re-imagined classics like Dawn of the Dead, Assault on Precinct 13, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Carrie and Pet Sematary, and helped tell many new and unique stories like Dead Silence, A History of Violence, The Empty Man, and Nightmare Alley. Using visual effects to scare, shock, panic, and my personal favorite, gross out audiences across the globe is such a privilege. I mean, what’s more fun than creating digital vomit filled with tiny little worms or a pure nightmare-fuel-filled Gordy sequence in Nope? Happy Halloween, FANGORIA.”
