After taking a lengthy break to accommodate last year’s strikes, FX’s Alien series has resumed filming in Thailand, and are apparently still adding cast members to the production: according to Deadline, Foundation‘s Sandra Yi Sencindiver has joined the cast of Noah Hawley’s long-gestating show.

What’s more, they’ve even got a few details about her character:

“We understand that Sencindiver appears in multiple eps and will play a senior member of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation. We hear thereโ€™s scope for the character to grow in future series.”

With so many Alien projects currently in the works (Fede Alvarez’s Alien: Romulus, Marvel’s Aliens vs. Avengers) and the last two entries in the series functioning as prequels to the Ridley Scott original, you’d be forgiven for needing a reminder on where Hawley’s series will fall in the Alien timeline.

Deadline clarifies:

“Exec-produced by Ridley Scott, the prequel series will be set towards the end of this century (a few years before Prometheus, and some thirty years before Scottโ€™s film). Itโ€™ll be the first project in the franchise to take place on Earth and has been reported to deal with the emergence of the storyโ€™s infamous Weyland-Yutani Corporation and the race between corporations to create new android life.”

So far, and in addition to Sencindiver, the cast of Hawley’s Alien series includes: Sydney Chandler, Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Adarsh Gourav, Kit Young, Timothy Olyphant, David Rysdahl, Babou Cessay, Erana James, Lily Newmark and Adrian Edmonson. That’s a giant cast! Lots of people! Plenty of fodder for Xenomorphs (or killer androids, whichever comes first on Noah Hawley’s Alien series).

Nothing further to report on FX’s Alien series at this time, but rest assured we’ll keep you informed as further updates roll in. Stay tuned.
