Takashi Yamazaki‘s Oscar-winning kaiju epic Godzilla Minus One is FINALLY heading to Blu-ray stateside, with an absolutely jam-packed Deluxe Collector’s Edition available exclusively via Godzilla Store US.
The release also includes the monochromatic cut, Godzilla Minus Color, which follows the same story in black and white in homage to Ishirō Honda’s 1954 original film.
Starring Ryunosuke Kamiki, Sakura Ando, Minami Hamabe and Hidetaka Noshioda, Godzilla Minus One followed a failed kamikaze pilot and a group of civilians trying to defend a ravaged Japan from the radiation-breathing beast.
Need we remind you: Godzilla Minus One made a hugely impressive $107 million worldwide, including nearly $57 million in North America. The movie was originally supposed to play for just a week in the States but due to sheer demand and strong word of mouth, Toho decided to screen the film for months longer.
The Godzilla Minus One Deluxe Japan Collector’s Edition mirrors the deluxe 4-disc box set released on May 1, 2024 in Japan. The official site tells us that the release preserves the Japanese treatment in both packaging and content, and includes all the same features as the original Japan release with the added addition of English menus and the option to select the theatrical release English subtitles for Godzilla Minus One and Godzilla Minus One/Minus Color.
