Slayer Productions and Valley High Pictures want to wish you a Happy Halloween with a new FANGORIA-exclusive trailer for their seasonal psycho-killer shocker. The movie premieres at the Alamo Drafthouse in Springfield, MO this Friday, October 20, with showings throughout the following week. Brittney Greer wrote and directed Happy Halloween in addition to handling the makeup, with David Watson as cinematographer and editor, and the cast is headed by Emma Reinagel, Aline O’Neill, Graham Weldin, Cameron Mabie, Jack Cathcart, Mickey Stone, Teri Austin and Jennifer Buttell.
Set in a small town celebrating its 300th birthday, with the festivities including a Halloween dance and corn maze, the movie focuses on Hadley Briggs (Reinagel), who has returned home after surviving a brutal attack by her ex-boyfriend the previous All Hallow’s Eve. A new series of slayings, whose perpetrator makes grisly decorations out of his victims’ body parts, begins, and Hadley and her friends become trapped in the maze and must escape before they become part of the body count.
Happy Halloween is the Springfield, Missouri-based Greer’s feature directorial debut following the web series Strange Happenings and short films ranging from this year’s Melody And Murder to the multi-award-winning inspirational story South Of Swan Creek. She was also a producer on Doug Roos’ award-winning fright feature The Sky Has Fallen, and created makeup FX for this year’s Lovecraftian horror musical Eldritch, USA.
