We just can’t seem to keep those creepy clowns down, now can we? To that end, it has been confirmed that the enduring Hell House LLC franchise will continue in 2025 with a brand new entry. Terror Films Releasing has teamed with writer/director Stephen Cognetti for what will be the fifth installment of the series overall, titled Hell House LLC: Lineage. What’s more, we even have a creepy little teaser trailer already. Check it out.
The trailer opens with an ominous passage from Robert Frost that reads, “I dwell in a lonely house I know, that vanished many summer ago.” It is taken from the poem Ghost House, which seems oddly fitting. We then pan over a snowy landscape before landing on a lovely house. Or at least a seemingly lovely house. Creepy clowns and unsettling quick cuts come into play, leading us to believe that some bad shit is going to happen. Given the terrifying reputation of the original Hell House LLC, that seems like a safe bet.
Lineage will go into production in November and is set to be released exclusively on Shudder in October of 2025. It is also set to release exclusively on Shudder, so it will be very easy for horror lovers of the world to find. Outside of the teaser, no additional information on the plot or casting was revealed. A press release, however, did offer just a tiny bit of context, saying the following:
“Coming off of the critical success of The Carmichael Manor, Hell House LLC: Lineage will continue a deeper dive into the back stories of various characters within the franchise, while introducing new characters and storylines.”
The film will be written and directed by Cognetti, with Joe Bandelli producing. Terror Films Releasing CEO Joe Dain and COO Jim Klock are on board as Executive Producers.
Though it might not get enough credit, Hell House LLC is one of our most enduring modern horror franchises. It’s also modern in just about every sense of the word, making use of found footage to be made on the cheap by Cognetti, while being released on VOD and making enough money to justify a series of sequels. Last year’s The Carmichael Manor was, indeed, particularly well received, paving the way for more. The series also includes 2018’s The Abaddon Hotel and 2019’s Lake of Fire.
