Last week’s Summer Game Fest brought us new trailers and accouncements for a number of excellent-looking horror titles, but Neowiz Games’ Lies of P (a Soulslike based on the story of Pinocchio) was the one that really captured my attention.
Today brings us another look at the game, one which takes a deep dive into Lies of P‘s gameplay mechanics … while also showing off a ton of its enemies, boss encounters, weapons and more.
Have a look:
For those who remain unclear, Lies of P puts players in the titular role of P (aka Pinocchio), who awakes one day in the highly-ornate city of Krat to find that the whole place is absolutely crawling with murderous puppets, monsters, and various other dangers. Your job is to get from one end of this sprawling, ferociously violent metropolis to the other in order to reach Geppetto, who will likely turn a blind eye to all the murdering you’ve been doing in order to make you a real boy.
The game mechanics shown off in the footage above look great, as does the gameplay. The Bloodborne vibes on this one are both welcome and so obvious that it feels borderline unnecessary to even mention them. More of this kinda thing, please!
Lies of P will hit consoles and Steam on September 19th. Fingers crossed that the game itself is as entertaining as these trailers have been!
