Genre legends are teaming up to bring us something undoubtedly awesome. The iconic Geretta Geretta (Demons) is taking a seat in the director’s chair for an upcoming horror film, the project is ten years in the making, and it’s nearly time for it to come to life! Geretta had this to say about helming the upcoming horror, “To direct a horror film and, in particular this one, is my dream and an incredible honor. Not only do I feel suited to the genre, it’s my twisted pleasure to scare folks while tickling them to ‘think.'” The story centers on tourists trapped inside a New Orleans movie theater, “where ravenous soul-sucking ghouls descend upon them for a night of pure, unadulterated horror.”
The movie will be co-produced by iconic Italian horror producer/director Lamberto Bava (Demons, The Mask of Satan) as well as Kansas Bowling (Absolute Vow, Primitiva). Genre legends Claudio Simonetti (Mother of Tears, Symphony in Blood Red) and Simon Boswell (Lord of Illusions, Phenomena) are attached for the score and soundtrack, respectively. Kansas Bowling says, “Geretta Geretta is one of a kind and I can’t wait to be a part of bringing her vision to life!” We couldn’t agree more!
Geretta also had a message for genre maestros and fans, “I’d like to say an enormous ‘Grazie per Tutto!’ to maestros Mr. Bava and Mr. Argento that got me here in the first place, and to all the fans that have kept me here.”
The confirmed cast includes Parker Love Bowling as Asia, Don DeVore as Andy, Mark Stegar as Sven, and Linnea Quigley as herself. More cast will be announced in the coming months. Andrew Hawkins, Jonathan Barkan, and Zena Dixon will act as executive producers. Michael Shershenovich (Skid Row, Bloody Christmas) will be the film’s Director of Photography.
Filming will begin in April 2022 and a world premiere is expected in October of 2023.
