I Saw The TV Glow, no that’s not a logline for a new Poltergeist installment. It’s the title of a new A24 horror-thriller from We’re All Going To The World’s Fair director Jane Schoenbrun, starring Justice Smith (The Voyeurs, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) and Brigette Lundy-Paine (Atypical, Bill & Ted Face The Music). According to The Hollywood Reporter, the production wrapped a week ago and is presently in post-production. The project is described as having “a strong musical contingent” with indie rock artist Lindsey Jordan (Snail Mail), musician-director Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit),ย Haley Dahlโ€™s Sloppy Jane (featuring Phoebe Bridgers), and King Woman attached. Our heads are reeling, imaginations running wild at the possibility of something akin to an indie rock opera-esque horror from A24, though that’s likely not exactly what’s in store. Schoenbrun shared the news on Twitter:

The official logline is, “two teenage outcasts, played byย Smith and Lundy-Paine, bond over their shared love of a scary television show. However, the boundary between TV and reality begins to blur after it is mysteriously canceled.” Purely based on that, it sounds like a slick, horrifying, updated take on Stay Tuned, which to be honest was a bit horrifying in its own right.

A24 is joining forces with Fruit Tree on this one, Emma Stone’s production banner. Further head-reeling infoโ€” the IMDB page for the project also lists Michael C. Maronna and Danny Tamberelli among the cast. For those unfamiliar, Maronna and Tamberelli make up the titular Petes from Nickelodeon’s The Adventures Of Pete & Pete. The information is limited but we have enough to wager we’re in for one wild ride!
