Heavy metal band Ice Nine Kills is back with a brand new music video that harkens back to one of the all-time great horror classics. The band has revealed the video for the single โ€œMeat & Greetโ€ from their upcoming album Welcome to Horrorwood: Under Fire, and it sees them taking on 1991โ€™s The Silence of the Lambs. Check it out.

The song is heavy as hell and it leans pretty hard into recreating Jonathan Demmeโ€™s seminal genre film, which remains one of very few horror titles to ever be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. They nail the Hannibal Lecter and the Clarice Starling of it all. Thereโ€™s a good reason these guys appeared in the print issue of Fangoria earlier this year. In addition to the video, you can also check out the artwork for the bandโ€™s new album below, which is set to arrive later this week.

This is just the latest in a string of horror-themed music videos made by the band over the last couple of years. Theyโ€™ve also had videos themed after Childโ€™s Play and American Psycho. Leaning into horror has helped the band reach new heights more than 20 years into their career, with The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood peaking at number 18 on the Billboard charts back in October of 2021.

The video was premiered during a live event dubbed Ice Nine Kills Presents: Meat & Greet: The Horrorwood Saga Comes To A TASTEFUL End. The event marked the launch of โ€œMeat & Greetโ€ as part of a premiere screening of Ice Nine Killsโ€™ complete Horrorwood Saga film, which is composed of all eight of their official music videos from 2021โ€™s chart-topping album, The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood. The bandโ€™s frontman Spencer Charnas had this to say about it:

โ€œAfter two years and eight music videos, weโ€™re ready to bring the โ€˜Welcome To Horrorwoodโ€™ saga to a shocking and tasteful climax with the unveiling of the final episode – โ€˜Meat & Greetโ€™. Join us in celebrating the entire blood-soaked era of โ€˜The Silver Scream 2: Welcome To Horrorwoodโ€™ as we present the horrifying climax of our cinematic sagaโ€ฆ..at least for now.”
