Damien Leone’s much-anticipated Terrifier 3 hits theaters on the appropriately spooky date of October 25, 2024, with Variety exclusively revealing today that independent film production and film distribution company Iconic Events Releasing are teaming up with Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting to handle theatrical distribution of the slasher sequel.
Returning for Terrifier 3 are FANGORIA Chainsaw Award-winning final girl Lauren LaVera and, of course, David Howard Thornton as the maniacal Art the Clown, along with Samantha Scaffidi, Elliot Fullam and AEW’s Chris Jericho. Wreaking bloody havoc with a much bigger budget, the Christmas-set Terrifier 3 follows Art the Clown as he unleashes Christmas Eve chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County.
Considering Iconic’s distribution of 2022’s Terrifier 2 made a whopping $15 million at the global box office on a budget of just $250,000 (with a little help from some viral chaos), the decision seems like a no-brainer, and Terrifier 3 will surely do just as well – if not better!
Brad Miska, Cineverse VP of business development and managing director of Bloody Disgusting, had this to say of the team up:
“Iconic absolutely crushed it for us with Terrifier 2 […] When the film went viral, they did a tremendous job keeping up with the hype and helped us secure thousands of screens across the country. With several months to plan, we know they’re the perfect partner to help us take the franchise to the next level with Terrifier 3.”
Following Terrifier 3‘s theatrical run, Cineverse will release the film across platforms, including on horror streaming service SCREAMBOX. While you wait for October 25, you can always revisit the first teaser that sees Art get up to some very un-festive mischief…
