IMAGINARY (2024)

Imaginary friends seem like a sweet and harmless enough concept, but we know that’s not always the case. Imaginary centers on a ferocious teddy bear and perhaps an army of evil imaginary friends. When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter, Alice, develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey.

If you’ve been waiting to own Imaginary, now’s your chance! It is now available on electronic sell-through and will arrive on May 14 on Blu-ray™, DVD, and Digital from Lionsgate. To celebrate, we have a peek at some Imaginary bonus content (for real). But first, let’s get a little refresher on that plot synopsis.

When Jessica (DeWanda Wise) moves back into her childhood home with her family, her youngest stepdaughter Alice (Pyper Braun) develops an eerie attachment to a stuffed bear named Chauncey she finds in the basement. Alice starts playing games with Chauncey that begin playful and become increasingly sinister.

As Alice’s behavior becomes more and more concerning, Jessica intervenes only to realize Chauncey is much more than the stuffed toy bear she believed him to be.

Imaginary’s costume designer, Eulyn Colette Hufkie walks us through the nearly twenty yellow dresses for lead DeWanda Wise as the dress transforms from a damsel in distress look to absolutely disheveled by the end.

For more, check out our interview with Imaginary star DeWanda Wise and director Jeff Wadlow on why he’d love to team up with Bradley Cooper.
