The folks over at Sony Pictures/Blumhouse dropped the final trailer for Patrick Wilson’s Insidious: The Red Door arrived this morning, and from the looks of things, the Lambert family will be getting a stirring finale when this one hits theaters next month.
Are you ready to go further into the Further than ever before?
The last time an Insidious film hit theaters, the year was 2018. Now it’s 2023, and we have not one but two new Insidious films on the way. Insidious: The Red Door is the first, and will bring to close the story that began a decade ago. There’s also the recently-announced Thread: An Insidious Tale, which will take place within the universe established by James Wan and Leigh Whannell’s original but which will also feature entirely new characters, including a couple played by Mandy Moore and Kumail Nanjiani. That one won’t be along this year, but it is already en route.
Will Insidious: The Red Door stick the landing of the Lambert timeline? All eyes are on Wilson, who’s taking up the directorial reins on this franchise for the very first time. He’ll be working with a screenplay written by Teems (with a story by Whannell), and … well, he’s certainly got some sizable shoes to fill, doesn’t he? We’re crossing our fingers that Wilson and Co. take the Lambert family out in style (so to speak).
Nothing further to report on Insidious: The Red Door at this time, but with the film hitting theaters on July 7th, we expect there to be much more to come in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned for whatever that might entail, Insidious fans!
