AMC’s Interview with the Vampire series returns on May 12th, which means it’s high time we started getting a look at what this new batch of episodes (greenlit before the first season had even aired!) has to offer … and this newly-released trailer gives us plentyย to look at.
Let’s dive in…
Here’s an official plot synopsis, for your records:
โThe vampire Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson) recounts his life story to journalist Daniel Molloy (Eric Bogosian). Picking up from the bloody events in New Orleans in 1940 when Louis and teen fledgling Claudia (Delainey Hayles) conspired to kill the Vampire Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid), Louis tells of his adventures in Europe, a quest to discover Old World Vampires and the Theatre Des Vampires in Paris, with Claudia. It is in Paris that Louis first meets the vampire Armand (Assad Zaman).
โTheir courtship and love affair will prove to have devastating consequences both in the past and in the future, and Molloy will probe to get to the truths buried within the memories.โ
Yes, Interview with the Vampire‘s second season will take the action overseas, where Louis and Claudia will investigate the vampiric goings-on in Paris, France. Those of you who’ve read the Anne Rice novel upon which this series is based (or, yes, those of you who have seen Neil Jordan’s 1994 feature film adaptation of the novel) already know where this is headed, and … yeah, devastating consequences is right.
A relocation also means the show has an opportunity to introduce us to some new cast members. According to Bloody Disgusting…
“Prepare to meet new vampires in Armandโs coven, with recurring guest stars that include Roxane Duranย (โThe White Ribbonโ) as Madeleine andย Bally Gillย (โSlow Horsesโ) as โReal Rashid.โย Ben Danielsย will star as Santiago, the leading vamp thespian of the Thรฉรขtre des Vampires who grows increasingly suspicious of the American vampires Louis and Claudia.”
The second season of Interview with the Vampire will begin rolling out on AMC and AMC+ on May 12th. Mark your calendars, folks, and do stay tuned for further updates on this one as they become available.
