BLOOD FEST (2018)

Vampires. They’re bloodthirsty, impeccably dressed, well-coiffed, on occasion they sparkle and they tend to look like they may or may not be chiseled out of pure marble. Author Johnny B. Truantโ€™s Fat Vampire series turns all those notions of what a vampire is or is not, on its undead head. The Hollywood Reporter has announced Truant’s book series will be adapted into a ten-episode series for SyFy created by Harley Peyton (Twin Peaks, Chucky series) and Jeremiah Chechik (Shadowhunters), starring Jacob Batalon (Blood Fest, Spider-Man: Far From Home). The series focuses on an ordinary guy turned unlikely hero, Reginald Baskin (Batalon). Baskin may not be the typical vampire, but as he descends into a world of the vain undead, he discovers rare powers of his own in his imperfect eternity.

We are so excited to see Batalon make the jump from show-stealing sidekick to lead role in a series. No premiere date has been announced yet, but we will keep you posted! In the meantime, while you wait for the SyFy series to drop, why not check out Truant’s original Fat Vampire book series.
