Jordan Peele filming NOPE (2022)
Jordan Peele filming NOPE (2022)

Good news and bad news for Jordan Peele fans today. The good news? The Get Out and Nope director’s fourth feature is officially dated for release. The bad news? It’s not until Halloween 2026.

Previously dated for December 25 of this year, Peele’s next movie will now open on October 23, 2026 (announced officially by the director himself on Twitter – seen below)

Given that Robert Eggers’ Nosferatu is penciled in for this Christmas, it would’ve been a hell of a double feature.

Even with just three features under his belt (the aforementioned two, and 2019’s Us), Peele has quickly cemented himself as one of modern horror’s key players, so needless to say anticipation for his next movie is through the roof.

However, everything about Peele’s next effort – title, plot, cast etc – remains a tight-lipped secret, but the director did share the following promising juicy tidbit in a previous appearance on the Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast:

“This has been…obviously, it’s been an interesting year because the writer’s strike had had me in a state of listening, and that’s where I need to be. I do feel like my next project is clear to me, and I’m psyched that I have another film that, you know, could be my favorite movie if I make it right.”

While all three of his films so far have dabbled in different arenas (from psychological thriller to space western epic), they each have one thing in common: a biting social commentary, Peele previously told Variety in 2022 that his next feature will, unsurprisingly, also make a comment on the state of the world as we know it:

“I always have something I’m working on that I’m trying to figure out. As time goes by, the world gives me awfulness to interpret,”

While we wait for more info on Untitled Fourth Jordan Peele Project, don’t forget the man stays busy: Monkeypaw Productions are currently working on a remake of Wes Craven’s The People Under the Stairs, and Peele is also working in some capacity with gaming legend Hideo Kojima on his upcoming mysterious horror game, OD.

While we’re desperate to know more about Peele’s next work, it can’t be denied that the mystery is part of the fun – remember how crazy we all went trying to figure out just what was up with the first poster and teaser for Nope?

Needless to say, whatever Peele’s got planned for us on October 23, 2026, we’ll be seated and ready.
