As if conquering the modern horror movie world with the sequence of Get Out, Us and Nope wasn’t enough, Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions enter the horror podcast arena with Quiet Part Loud: an “audio horror fable” consisting of 12 bingeable episodes exclusively on Spotify.

Described by Variety as using ‘immersive audio and sound design’, Quiet Part Loud stars Tracy Letts (The Big Short), Arian Moayed (Succession), Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) and Taran Killam (Killing Gunther), and follows:

Conservative radio personality Rick Egan (Letts) lost his platform in the wake of 9/11 for spreading xenophobic rumors surrounding a group of missing Muslim teenagers. Eight years later, a washed-up Rick is slumming it on the convention circuit when a mysterious woman (Hendricks) presents a tantalizing revelation: One of the missing teens is back. This sends Rick on a quest for vindication as he follows a trail of unfathomable events. He is left face to face with the true culpritโ€ฆThe Blank (Killam), a faceless sound parasite that thrives on the air of hatred. Rick receives a Faustian bargain from the mysterious entity and is about to find out exactly how far he will go to claw his way back to the top.

Spotify head of scripted podcasts Mimi Oโ€™Donnell will direct and executive produce the series, alongside Monkeypaw’s Win Rosenfeld and Peele himself. In a statement to Variety, Peele had this to say about his company’s move into the podcasting world:

โ€œIโ€™m always looking for new ways to explore and innovate in genre storytelling […] The potential in audio was tremendously appealing: By stripping horror of all its visuals, you can focus on just conjuring dread and unease in your listenerโ€™s ears on this intimate and visceral level. I wanted us to make the scariest podcast of all time.โ€

Quiet Part Loud will be released on Spotify on November 15th. While you wait to add a terrifying new podcast into your rotation, check out the visual trailer below!
