Zelda Williams’ Lisa Frankenstein, a rom-com reimagining of Mary Shelley’s classic reanimated corpse tale penned by Diablo Cody and starring the dynamic duo of Kathryn Newton (Freaky) and Cole Sprouse (Riverdale), hits theaters next month, which means we’re entering the home stretch of this film’s marketing campaign.
Today’s reminder comes in the form of a brand-new poster, one which communicates the late ’80s aesthetic and pop sensibilities of the film. Let’s take a look…
In addition to Newton and Sprouse, Lisa Frankenstein features performances from the great Carla Gugino (Gerald’s Game, Fall of The House of Usher), Liza Soberano (Alone/Together), Joe Chrest (Stranger Things), and Henry Eikenberry (The Crowded Room). Here’s an official plot synopsis, in case you missed that the first time around:
“A coming of RAGE love story from acclaimed writer Diablo Cody (Jenniferโs Body) about a misunderstood teenager and her high school crush, who happens to be a handsome corpse. After a set of playfully horrific circumstances bring him back to life, the two embark on a murderous journey to find love, happiness โฆ and a few missing body parts along the way.”
Aaand here’s the trailer again, just in case you missed that, as well:
Lisa Frankenstein hits theaters next month, just in time for Valentine’s Day, on February 9th. We recommend seeing it with the corpse you’d most like to reanimate. Stay tuned for further updates on this one as we draw ever closer to that release date; there’s sure to be more where this came from.
