NEON are back to give you a fresh batch of nightmares with their latest (and first full-length) teaser for Osgood Perkins’ Longlegs – one that gives us a good listen to Nicolas Cage’s immensely eerie serial killer voice.
Incase you’ve missed the other terrifying teasers and posters (seriously, someone give NEON’s marketing department a raise) for the Rated R horror, Longlegs stars Maika Monroe as FBI Agent Lee Harker, who finds herself tasked with tracking down Nicolas Cage’s serial killer. Also starring are Alicia Witt (The Walking Dead) and Blair Underwood (American Crime Story).
Putting together all these cryptic teasers so far has been a WILD ride, so to finally see a teaser with a little more meat on the bones (if you’ll pardon the pun) feels very rewarding.
We’ve got Biblical passages, some grisly gore, Cage’s creepiest voice of all time and shedloads of tension – if we weren’t already 100% sold, we definitely are now. There’s plenty of The Silence of the Lambs vibes here, which makes sense as the film has been described as being “in the vein of classic Hollywood psychological thrillers.”
First reactions to Longlegs from trusted critics and friends of Fango tease that this thing is the real deal – living up to the marketing and then some.
Sadly, the rest of us will have to wait until July 12th when Longlegs arrives in theaters – until then, remember to say your prayers.
